The Great orange investigation!!

How many ways can we measure an orange? Students in room 2 used their understanding of the metric system to measure their oranges. We weighed them, found out the circumference, the length of the skin, the volume and even how many mls of juice it had. What a fun investigation! We presented our findings...watch this space to see what we found

Our First Futsal session

Golddale students loved learning new games that improved their Futsal skills. We ended our session with an actual game of Futsal. Here are a few snapshots of our morning. Thanks Kiwisport!

Fast Facts - World War One: Trench Life

Anzac Learning

We had a fantastic first week back in Golddale! Citizens of Golddale learnt all about our Anzacs and the importance of remembering our fallen heroes. We learnt about life in the trenches, read and listened to actual soldier's letters and even wrote our own diary entries, putting ourselves in the shoes of our soldiers. Here is an example of a well written diary entry. Dear Diary The life in the trenches has been tough, the dusk of night creeping into our trenches, the rodents that are infecting our wounds. When the last post today half of our squad was dead, I was relieved I didn’t join the dead half. My auburn skin is hard to see in the dusky light. Our trench won’t hold for long. The moon illuminated a short part of the trench, I could see the expression on the others people faces, fear. They had seen their brothers die in front of them. The variety of food wasn’t pleasing, I wish I could have another sniff of your special home meatloaf. Love from, JOHN CENA (Harry)
